How to Remove Friends, Leave Groups, and Delete Posts
This guide covers the most common account management actions in ChatCript — from removing friends and blocking users to leaving groups and deleting posts. Each action is straightforward and only takes a few taps.
How to Remove a Friend
Step 1: Go to the Friends tab (bottom navigation).
Step 2: Find the friend you want to remove in the "Friends" tab.
Step 3: Long-press on the friend's name.
Step 4: Tap "Remove" in the confirmation dialog.
The friend will be removed immediately. You will no longer appear in each other's friend lists, and your mutual chat history will remain but no new messages can be sent.
How to Block a User
Step 1: Open the user's profile (tap their name or photo in a chat, post, or search result).
Step 2: Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
Step 3: Select "Block User".
A blocked user cannot send you messages, friend requests, or see your posts. To unblock, go to "Profile > Settings > Blocked Profiles" and tap unblock.
How to Leave a Group
Step 1: Open the group and tap the group name/header to open the Group Information screen.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: Tap "Leave Group" (red button with an exit icon).
Step 4: A confirmation dialog appears warning that the group chat will be deleted immediately. Tap "Leave Group" to confirm.
You will be removed from the group and navigated back to the groups list.
Note: Group admins and creators cannot leave directly. They must transfer admin rights first or delete the group.
How to Follow a Public Group
Step 1: Find a public group through the Search tab or a shared link.
Step 2: Open the group's information screen.
Step 3: Scroll to the bottom and tap the "Follow" button (blue button).
Step 4: Optionally, choose to add the group to your chat list for quick access.
As a follower, you can view posts and channels in the public group, but you cannot post content yourself.
How to Unfollow a Public Group
Step 1: Open the public group's information screen.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom.
Step 3: Tap the "Unfollow" button (red button).
This removes both your follow status and any chat association with the group.
How to Remove a Member from a Group
Only group admins and creators can remove members.
Step 1: Open the group and go to the Group Detail screen.
Step 2: Tap the "Members" tab.
Step 3: Find the member and tap the three-dot menu (⋮) next to their name.
Step 4: Select "Remove Member" (red text).
Step 5: Confirm by tapping "Remove" in the dialog.
The member is immediately removed from the group.
How to Delete a Post
Only the post author (or group admins for channel posts) can delete a post.
Step 1: Find your post in the Home feed or inside a Channel.
Step 2: Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the post card.
Step 3: Select "Delete" (red text with delete icon).
Step 4: Confirmation dialog: "Delete Post?" — this action cannot be undone.
Step 5: Tap "Delete" to confirm.
The post is immediately and permanently removed.
