Why You See Ads in ChatCript
You may have noticed ads appearing in your Home feed while using ChatCript. We understand that ads can sometimes feel unexpected in a messaging app, so we want to be transparent about why they're there, how they work, and what it means for your privacy.
Why Does ChatCript Show Ads?
ChatCript is completely free to download and use — there are no subscription fees, no premium tiers, and no hidden charges. To keep it that way while continuing to develop new features, improve security, and maintain our servers, we rely on advertising revenue.
Ads allow us to:
- Keep the app free for everyone — No user is left behind a paywall.
- Fund ongoing development — New features like AI summaries, voice messages, and group tools require continuous investment.
- Maintain secure infrastructure — Servers, encryption, and data protection come with real costs.
- Provide customer support — Our team is available to help you whenever you need it.
What Types of Ads Will I See?
ChatCript displays two types of advertisements:
- Google Ads — These are served through the Google AdMob platform and appear as native ad cards in your Home feed, blending naturally with the content. Google Ads are clearly labelled with an "Ad" badge so you can always distinguish them from regular posts.
- Sponsored content — From time to time, you may see sponsored posts from partners or promotions relevant to the ChatCript community. These are also clearly marked as "Sponsored" so there's no confusion.
Where Do Ads Appear?
Ads are placed only in the Home feed and in channel post feeds. You will not see ads in:
- Private one-on-one chats
- Group conversations
- Settings or profile screens
- The AI chatbot
We've intentionally kept ads out of your private conversations to ensure your messaging experience remains clean and uninterrupted.
How Often Will I See Ads?
We carefully control ad frequency to keep it balanced. Ads appear periodically between posts in your feed — not on every scroll, and never as pop-ups or full-screen interruptions. Our goal is to make ads feel like a natural part of the feed rather than a disruption.
Is My Privacy Protected?
Absolutely. Your privacy is our top priority. Here's how we handle ads responsibly:
- No personal data is shared with advertisers — We do not sell or share your messages, contacts, or personal information with any ad network.
- Non-personalised ads — ChatCript serves non-personalised ads by default. This means ads are not targeted based on your personal activity or profile data.
- No tracking across apps — We do not use device tracking identifiers (like IDFA) to follow your activity across other apps.
- GDPR compliant — Our ad implementation follows GDPR and international privacy regulations.
Can I Remove Ads?
At this time, ads are part of the free experience and cannot be individually removed. However, we're always exploring ways to improve the user experience. Your feedback helps us find the right balance between keeping the app free and keeping the experience enjoyable.
We Value Your Feedback
If you ever feel that ads are too frequent or disruptive, please let us know through the in-app chatbot or by contacting our support team. We actively monitor feedback and adjust ad placement to ensure the best experience for our users.
